Good Morning Beyond Compare,

I’m assuming you are really angry because you used a red font for your post. If I’m wrong feel free to correct me.

I did notice that you also used a secret identity for your post. I assume you did that to just go along with the rest of us. We will all be looking forward to more of your posts under that handle.

I have asked the question many times and never seem to get an answer so I will try it again with you. Why do you feel the town is split and how did it get that way? To go along with that line of thinking, how could we get it back to the “tight knit” mode??

I totally agree about the drug thing. If a lot of people know about this problem and who is the major cause of it, why hasn’t there been something done about it? There are agencies that you can call and talk to without giving your name. They will be able to advise you on a plan of action. Once some one gets busted and prosecuted things will begin to dry up fast. One could say it’s still not as bad as the big city and they would be correct. The only problem is that was the talk when it first began in the big city also. How do you like that outcome?

As far as the good people getting bad names for making others mad, I don’t put a whole lot of stock in what others say about me if I know I am doing the right thing.

You may not agree with my “right thing” but that doesn’t make us enemies--it just means we have a disagreement on that subject. You know that old saying: "If everyone liked Fords that’s all there would be."

As far as the three groups of people go, isn’t that type of identifying people part of the cause of a split? I can’t see why there should be a problem with where you want to hang out. If you drink it’s your business but it should also be the coffee people's business if that’s all they are interested in. What if a person was a recovered alcoholic and they felt they needed to stay out of bars but wanted to hang out with others so they went to the coffee shop. Should both sides stop talking because they hang out in different places?  Why would anyone think they were on some sort of “pedestal” just because of where they went to socialize??

As far as the money from the bars going back into the community, you will have to do a better explanation than that.

The Shadow isn't going to comment on Glendo residents, and certainly isn't going to judge anyone else's contribution to society--as Ace pointed out, that's not playing nice, and it seems like we all have enough on our plate dealing with our own contributions.

You are correct about the outside world but the main thrust of this site was to begin and continue a conversation about Glendo. If you would like to begin one about the outside world I’m sure Ace would give you your own column!!  As far as why I choose to remain anonymous, go back and read some of the early stuff where I explained that.

Spring will be here soon and we can all get out of the house and rub elbows again. I’m sure you are looking forward to that!!!
